how do you deafeat the Rathalos the first time you fight him cause I always get killed and what armour and weapon should I use?

Well the first time you encounter him he is too powerful so you shud use rations so you can run for longer.

I used full garuga armor and I don't remember if it was raven or wolf blade(garuga SnS)but just use flash bombs and large and small bombs and beat his ass

If you mean the attack of the rathalos quest then:

1. I use full veloprey except instead of the helm I use protection piering and my sentoryu wolf

2. 10 large barrels 10 gunpowder 10 potions(just in case)5 flash bombs 10 small barrel bombs pitfall trap 2 trap tools and 2 nets and all of your book of combos

You dont have to use strong armor and weapon to kill rathalos and rathian...

I got my dfens. to about 57 and made a demondrug and armorskin. I brought 10 potions, one mega potion, 9 well-done steak, 2 demondrugs, 2 armorskins, 2 sonic bombs, 5 flashbombs,and 10 small-barrel bombs.
