Yes you can cut off the following:

Gravios
Rathalos
Basarios
Rathian
Yian garuga
Diablos
Monoblos
And I don't know about lao shun =P coz I can't kill him =S

Yes you can but you gotta do it to the big monsters like the rathalos, diablos, so on, a yian kut-ku's tail can't come off though it's quite funny if you can get it off, it's best to get a tail off if your teaming with a friend on a quest, have no friends with a psp or not this game? Good luck on getting it's tail off, trust me it's hard, specially cause you'll try to carve something off and the enemy will charge you or something

Yes you can just take a G sword (i use inferno dragonsword it's fatalis)flashbomb it run behind it and use triangle,triangle+circle over and over until it comes off then carve it
