Hey demondarc, when I did that, I had all Yian Garuga equipment, like yian garuga mail, vambraces, tasset, greaves, and mask. I also had Sentoryu Wolf greatsword as my weapon. I also did it with the deadly battleaxe and cutlass+ (with cutlass+ it was hard). Equipment wise... I had full potions, herbs, mega potions, antidotes, and small barrel bombs. I also had 5 armour seeds and 5 power seeds. Before I did the quest, though, I did go to the felyne kitchen and I was able to get the felyne throw skill, strength, and defense up.
