Need help on the Yian Kut Ku.

Can someone tell me a good strategy to slay it?

Wen I first slayed it I did it with the great serpentblade and I used pitfall traps and flash bombs and sonicbombs

If you make a item called a Demon Drug it will boost your attack stat and you will cause huge damage with one hit. A good weapon to use would be any kind of Serpents Blade and Frost edge is good. Bring Pitfall Traps, Sonic Bombs, Flash Bombs some Whetstones and Potions. Once you can kill him a few times and learn his pattern of attacks you will have no trouble killing him in the future and won't really need items to kill it! Hope this helps!P.S. Follow every where and plant a pit fall trap right beside it when it's asleep and THEN wake him up and it's all yours!!!

Use the silverfang serpentblade since it's the best Great sword for beginners. Also throw flash bombs at it's eye and keep hitting it until you defeat it.
