I can't defeat Giglamesh 2nd E - Final Fantasy XII Questions (PS2)

I can't defeat Giglamesh 2nd Encounter. I have the official guide but it's proving no help what so ever. My character's levels are;
 Fran 69 with perseus bow and Bamboo arrows
 Basch 68 with Death Bringer and aegis sheild
 Baltheir 68 with Save The Queen....
 
 I can't even dispose of Endiku, Gig keeps casting disable or sleep and knocking all my characters out...
 
 I was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions???

I had my characters over level 80 when I fought him the second time round. I used Vaan, Basch, and Ashe. Make sure to have a curaja or full cure gambit on at least two of the characters depending on your mp. Have them the equiped with some really good weapons and armour and thats all your characters not just the three main ones so you can have backup in case some of them get killed. Defeat Enkidu first this will make it alot easier to deal with Gilgamesh. Also it would also help to have shell, protect, haste , faith, bravery and bubble on the characters you and using so set some gambits up for that. Just keep attacking.

Try useing decoy so they attack one of your character
Then use dispel and blind on enkidu then attack the beast into you kill it
Now for gilgamesh steal the genji helm armor then equip accessories that protect
You from his sleep/disable/and break use expose to lower his defense then cast
Darkga and bio while another character attack up close also use decoy/haste and
Berserk on one character.

Try and get you're ppl to prime lvls or equipping them with acc that counter the effects of the spells

Try upgrading your armor and liscence boards. I recommend using stronger characters too. Grow a few levels and if you still can't beat him, get some better weapons. Make sure to steal the Genji equipment while you're fighting him too. Make sure to always have Bubble on. If you don't have it, buy some bubble belts at the Muthruu Bazaar.

Hi, I have completed this game I also have the guide and it doesnt tell you much how 2 beat gilgamesh 2nd time. It took me about half n hour 2 defeat him he is hard so lisen up. Make sure you get rid of his little pet 1st coz it's very annoying just have plenty of healing items such as remedies etc 2 cure it's annoying status ailments that it puts on u. Wen it's dead gilgamesh isnt very hard. I used vaan with a sword. Cnt member wot sword it was tho. Balthier with a gun and basch with a hammer. I beat him 1st time but it does take time. i fink i was about level 72-75 wen i defeated him. hope this helps!

I was around level 45 when I beat him for the second time. I had the same problem with the magick gilgamesh was casting. It is a very simple fix. All you need to do is equip different accesories. E.X. Nishjiin belt negates sleep effect. Buy three of each item that negates the status effects that gilgamesh uses. When it shows what he is about to use ex lvl 4 sleep ergh somethin just equip the accesorie that negates that certain effect.

Firdt off... Buy some Black Belts, which will make you immune to disable, bubble belts, which will make you double your HP, and the best armor you can find(at LEAST Maxamillian and maybe a Circlet) also, when Gilgamesh casts sleep, just wait for him to attack or if he misses, which will happen most of the time(same with disable, it will mainly miss 2/3 of your characters), just use alarm clocks or Esuna. As for his sidekick, you need the best weapons to kill him...(I had only Golden Axes, you can get these at the village in the Dalmasca Estersand at this time, and I had a Ragnorok greatsword) Once you didpose of the wolf, the battle gets 10x easier! Even when Gilgamesh does his special attacks, you will probably survive! Oh, also have at least 1 Ring of Renewal, that adds 6 to def. And 5 to mg. Def.! Good thing to have!

Once the wolf is dead, you shouldn't have as much a problem, like I daid earlier(apphearently, Gilgamesh gets most of his strength from his wolf pal, I made a note of that, but he still has a high attack rate, about 2-6 hits)

P.S.: don't forget to steal the Gengi equipment from him!

Well I solo battled Gilgi both times and beat him. I even managed to steal all of the gengi armor. If you have a ribbon/s equip them to cancel out his status attacks. If you are using three people I suggest having two characters using renew the entire time and the other attacking with a powerful weapon. Also, make sure that you have items to heal mp, preferably megaelixers which target all characters
