When should I start getting espers? The highest lvl player I have right now is 18 and I have at least 1 quickening for everyone. I appreciate any help.

You should wait, you really shouldnt get any of them untill you are in your early 40's, although you may be able to get Adrammelech in your mid 30's. At level 43 I was able to get most of them.

Well 6 espers are story related, so you have to get Belias before you can get any others. So go with the story unitl you can get him. Then don't try to get any more that aren't story related until you're level 40 with 3 characters.

You should start at the tomb of raithwall for the storyline espers,and the first esper is belias,the gigas.when you get the dawn shard,about 5 more espers come into play,3 optional,1 storyline.i beat belias at lvl 20 with no quickenings

I recommend being around mid 30's to mid 40's for the weaker espers like Adramelech or Zalera, if you want the rank 2 espers I recommend lvl 50-60. If you want the best ones like Chaos, Ultima, and Zodiark, you will need lvl 69-74 minimum for Chaos and Ultima. Zodiark was tough when I was lvl 78. Also, against Chaos, you cannot attack with melee, hit him with dispel and scourge to do some decent starting moves. For Ultima, just pummel her with any non-holy weapon, if you use a holy element weapon you will just heal her. For Zodiark, just use Excalibur and any other high rank weapons like masamune to crush him. Watch out for Darkja though, to deal with this just wear black masks to absorb the damage Darkja does. Same goes with white masks for Ultima. Zodiark's ultimate move when you can summon him is Final Eclipse, it does a gueranteed 50,000 damage and to trigger it the summoner has to be petrified. To use Ultima's ultimate move both you and Ultima have to be in critical health. Hope I helped
