To get the ferry to start running you need to first defeat the Flowering Cactoid, now if you already did that, then take the Cactus Flower that you get from it and take it to Dantro's Wife in the hut by the river(it will be to the right of the Unlucky Merchant) then she then the villagers will let you go where the guy's son will take you. Once you are there you will learn that the people are being held hostage by Cactoids. You will searn that their son is the Flowering Cactoid that already defeating, don't panick , because all you need to do is go talk to Dantro's Wife and she will tell you that she buried in the back of the house. Go to the back of the house and you will see the flower and go to pick it up and the Flowering Cactoid will come up and will follow you to the boat then you can get on it to take the Cactoid to the other side and then the cactoids will give you a bundle of needles. From then on you will be able to go over there but I'm going to warn you the creatures over there are pretty strong and I would wait untill you are round level 25 to 30. Now for the Demon Wall, the first is stranger than the second so take care of the second one first so run from the first Demon Wall and you will see the second one. Again you need to be at around level 25 to 30 for this area and for the Demon Walls. Now to beet him use a good quickening with a Mist-Chain of about 8 or 9, then change your party to the other three characters and do it again, now that most likely won't finish him off so then change back to your normal characters and finish him off with your weapons. Now for the first Demon Wall, after you are done with the Tomb of Raithwall and you are at or past level 30 do the same thing and you will have beet them both.

Hope this helps.

To get the ferry running , you have to get farther in the main quests of the game.

The first demon wall doesn't matter unless you want the demonsbane.
You can run from him and find the next one.
The next one is easier and is the only one that you absolutely HAVE to face to move on.
Just use quickenings on the second wall until he falls.
Or if you don't have quickenings , I suggest equipting a few characters with an axe and a shield.
They have good offense and defence together.
And then buy the magick called berserk.
Have one or two people out that have an axe or hammer and equip them with berserk while you stand back and heal them.

As for the Ferry, you have to get farther in the game. As for the Demon Walls, run from the first one, as it will mos likely crushyou unless you are on a higher level than average.

As for the second one, which you HAVE to beat, he's pretty easy. Just start by casting Protect on everyone and then go up to him and keep attacking. I suggest being on level 25+ before taking him on though.

Hope I helped,

The demon walls: as far as the first goes- it's simpler just to run, buyt if you must beat it brute force is about the only way through. Once you reach the second, approach a torch along the side and examine/touch/activate it there's a chance that the wall will speed up, but it is more likely to stop, once it is stopped get in a good quickening chain then hammer away the last bit of health with you best meelee characters (i would suggest keeping a strong magick user out of the chain as well, just so you have some spells to back up your party and heal them if need be)
