When am I able to equip items and use the party menu I press trinagle and nothing happens the same thing for select it does not bring up a map

Well that's odd as soon as Basch explains the menu you should be able to access it anytime, maybe there is something wrong with your control pad or did you change the configuration for commands it might be the same thing with the map. When you first start the game you have the option of changing the button config maybe you did that without realizing.

Pzazder, he said that when he pressed select, it will not bring up a map of the area. I know that sometimes, I had to press Triangle several times in order for the menu to pop up, maybe your button is messed up, or your game has a glitch in it. Try pressing start, and then press Triangle to see if the menu pops up then. You could also try reseting the game, and cleaning it. As for the map, if you can get the menu pop up, then you can look at a map in the key Items area I think. Hope this helps some.
