Why can't I save my progress?? Ive completed Case #1 but had to cut the computer off. When I cut the game back on it hadnt saved anything!!

First I'm sorry for you're lost. Case #1 was kinda long. But I digress, you have got to make sure that the game saves and make sure to shut off the game because if you quit the manual way, the game will definately save
