You need to fill all their needs. Eating, coffee, bathroom etc until the green bar is right to the end and the cup cake stops flashing and the sim will have green sparkles around it to show it's inspired. Some needs are obvious like the fridge for eating and the coffe maker for energy as well as sleeping. Other like the vitality are filled by watching tv or playing the computer. The social one includes petting the dog, making a phone call as well as talking to another sim.

To inspire a sim, first select the sim and look at their needs. Their needs are the small bars with things such as a fork and a knife representing eating and food. For example let's say you wanted to inspire your sim because it was a goal and your sim needed to eat (fork&knife). You go to your fridge or buy one from the home store under kitchen I believe. Now you have the options to have a "Turbo Snack" or "Graze" or have "Leftovers" or have a "Meal". Let's say you really needed a lot of food then you would select "Meal" and once you're done you should see more green in your bar. To instantly inspire a sim, you could use a cupcake. It costs 5 LP so I wouldn't suggest it unless you REALLY had to use one. To inspire a sim without a cupcake there may be some possible tips online.

You CAN inspire a sim without the use of life points. All you need is a fully operational weather machine.

Tap on "make it storm" and bring out a sim,NOT doing anything, just plain standing in the rain,in a open space in your backyard, and wait for the lightning to strike it. When the lightning strikes the sim,it instantly makes the sim inspired . Hope this helped you!
