10 Things We Wish Pokemon Would Do

Let Pikachu Be Permanently Level 100

Ash has technically had Pikachu for almost twenty years. Together, they have taken on and defeated hundreds of opponents, maybe even more. They have defeated numerous Gym Leaders, as well as battled plenty of Elite Four Members. You would have thought that by now, Pikachu would have hit the ceiling and be maxed out at Level 100. Unfortunately, that isn't so.

Everytime Ash and Pikachu travel to a new region, everything before that time becomes irrelevant. It's like a clock gets reset, and Pikachu is back at Level 5 when Ash first got it (the same reset also happens to Ash -- but will get to that later). Pikachu is once again a crummy Level 5 Pikachu, which makes no sense.

Apparently, the Pokemon Creators want to keep things interesting by making Pikachu not a Level 100 beast. What they fail to realize is that a Level 100 Pikachu isn't that great. Sure it will have more speed than most Pokemon the duo encounters, but it still will have those horrible defensive stats - those will never go away. So it's not like they are really making Ash undefeatable, not at all. They are simply keeping things realistic. I mean seriously... There is absolutely no reason to why after traveling through four different regions, Pikachu was to lose to a Level 5 Snivy. Even if Zekrom messed with Pikachu's Electric Powers, that's still unacceptable.

It just isn't logical to cripple Ash's Teams and make Pikachu irrelevant by lowering its level. Ash is a good trainer and all, don't get me wrong, but he has never had a legitimate chance of winning a Pokemon League. Keeping Pikachu at Level 100 probably wouldn't change that, but still... It would at least help. Perhaps he could place one place further or something. At least he wouldn't have to train it all over again.
