West of Dead is set in wild west of Purgatory, Wyoming, 1888. You play as William Mason, a recently murdered lawman stuck in purgatory and out for revenge. As you progress through the chapters you will uncover more of the story once you have defeated the boss that lies at the end of each one. There are three weapon types in West of Dead: long, medium, and short range and these are in the form of rifles, pistols, revolvers and shotguns. Weapons in West of Dead cost Sin Points to purchase and just because a weapon is expensive does not necesarily mean it is the most effective. Check out our Best Weapons Guide to find out about the weapons in the game.

There is no one particular best weapon in West of Dead, each has its own strengths and weaknesses and will excel in a particular situation. In West of Dead you will not know if a weapon is good or suits you until you unlock it, you will find that some of the expensive guns will be more disappointing than the cheaper ones. Two weapons that gamers are latching onto are the Workhorse rifle and Buckshot shotgun, the former probably because of its large ammo capacity.
