Choosing your Element

Once you have answered your five-questions at the start of Tactics Ogre: Reborn and influenced Denam's stats in the direction you want to take the character, the game will then ask you to choose a deity. Each of the deities is tied to an element and the deity that you choose will become Denam's element in the game. There are six dieties.

Xoshonell - Fire

Lyuneram – Ice

Hahnela – Air

Vaasa – Earth

Nestharot – Lightning

Greuza – Water

The element that you choose for Denam will mean that the weapons and spells that he picks up of the same type will be able to achieve greater power. Keep in mind that elements can also enfeeble Denam in certain circumstances as well as empower him. As there is no advantange in picking one element over any of the others it is recommended that you pick your favorite and go from there. There are eight elements in total: fire, water, wind, earth, darkness, light, lightning and ice. You will find that there are more than enough options for elementally infused weapons and spells to make any choice serviceable. Although there are 8 elements in total, Light and Darkness are introduced at a later stage of the story.

The elements in Tactics Ogre: Reborn use the rock-paper-scissors ('x' defeats 'y', 'y' does very well with 'z', etc.). Take a look at the screenshot above to see what the relationships are between them in the game. There is a special correlation between Light and Dark, because they are strong and weak against each other.

If at any point during the game you feel that you want to change to another element you can do so providing you have the required Light Marks and Dark Marks.
