How to Evade Missile Attacks

While you are piloting your starfigher in a battle it is inevitable at some point you will get that unmistakeable indication from your dashboard that an enemy missile has locked on. It is therefore essential that you know how to evade these incoming threats in order to stay alive. The guide below will tell you what actions you can take to nullify the threat.

In order for an enemy to fire a missile at you they need to complete a lock. You can prevent them from accomplishing this by making sharp and sudden turns in different directions to throw off your foes tracking. Place asteroids or space stations between you and the enemy so they do not have a visual on you, if they are unable to see you they will not be able to get a lock on you. There are certain components such as a Scrambler Shield or Dampener Hull which you can attach to your starfighter that will prolong enemy lock ons.

If the enemy has fired the missile at you may be able to avoid it by simply making a sharp turns in different directions. You can though set your throttle to half so speed so your starship has better manoeuvrability so you can perform even sharper turns which will increase your chances considerably of shaking the missile off. Another way to get rid of certain missiles is to use your boost and simply outrun it. If you have proficient drifting skills you can use them to drift around obstacles in order to avoid missiles or make them hit into your cover.
