How to Unlock Mounts

Mounts in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds are a form of transport for when you want to get from one place to another faster. There are currently seven different mounts in the game. Take a look at our How to Unlock Mounts guide to find out how you can acquire them by either completing missions or buying them from the shop.

The mounts page in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds tells you which rides are available and how to get them if they are not yet owned. If you click on a mount's required materials and select the 'Source' button you will reveal where the items can be found or purchased. You will find that you will not be able to unlock some mounts until you reach a certain level.

How to get your First Mount

You will not be able to get a mount in Ni no Kuni until you have progressed to the point in the story where you need to increase your Evermore Reputation to Level 3. Once you have done this you will unlock a range of Reputation Quests. The quest you need to complete in order to get your first mount is 'Unexpected Company' which is given by Great Uncle Autumn. This quest is straightforward as the games' auto tracker will complete the objectives for you, these include tracking down Platypaws and then saving a Catarumpus from some monsters who you will then be able to summon when you need to travel somewhere. If you are planning to stay as a pure F2P player, you will be stuck with the Catarumpus for a while until you are able to unlock and afford the other mounts in the game.

How to Power Up Mounts

When you power up your mounts in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds you will increase your Character Combat Power. You will recieve 100 percent of the stats, and while the unmounted but with the mount equipped you will receive 30% of its stats. Mounts are limited on maximum stats, which can be increased when you upgrade mounts. In order to power up your mount you will need to acquire two Feather Teasers and 600 Gold each time.

Rustbucket

Required upgrade material:

- 1 x Rustbucket Amber

How to obtain:

- Purchase this mount at Kingdom Level 10 or higher from the Kingdom General Store for 600 Gilders.

Yak

Combat Points:

-Minimum 1537

Hitpoints:

- Max 1157

ACC:

-Max 103

Crit Resistence:

- Max 103

Required upgrade material:

- 1 x Yakk Amber

How to obtain:

- At level 30 or higher, Yakk can be obtained as a prize from Al-khemi's Lucky Pot.

Swing

Combat Points:

- Minimum 7618

Defense:

- Max 695

Hitpoints:

- Max 8079

Evasion:

- Max 739

Required upgrade material:

- 1 x Swing Amber

How to obtain:

This mount can be unlocked by purchasing the Area Achievement Bundle III from the store using real money.

Wing Glider

Combat Points:

- Minimum 4622

Attack Power:

- Max 134

Hitpoints:

- Max 879

ACC:

- Max 123

Required upgrade material:

- 1 x Wing Glider Amber

How to obtain:

Exchange at the Medal Exchange store for 4000 honor medals. Earn honor medals from PvP modes (Duel Yard, Lava Valley).

Birby

Required upgrade material:

- 1 x Birby Amber
