How to Beat Nergigante

Nergigante is an Elder Dragon that is incredibly agile and will lash out with ferocious speed and stun its aggressors with its powerful shots. This monster cannot be captured, to fullfill the requirements of the assignment it must be killed.You will face this beast twice before you have to actually hunt him, both of those times will not count as the actual fight.

When you fight Nergigante your objective will be to try and keep a medium distance to the beast, bait its attacks, and dodge to the side and punish its front limbs and if there is an opening its horns and head as these areas deal the most damage. Make sure you do not stand in front of the monster at any time because during the battle it will grow spines and fire a lethal burst of them at whatever is in front of it. Once the creature has turned black it will begin doing a flying-slam move which it is imperative that you dodge.

How to Beat Nergigante

When deciding what weapons and armour you are going to take it is essential that you equip Flashpods and Flashbugs as they will be needed to create some breathing room by detonating them in the monsters face so you blind the creature and send it into a rage. When this happens make sure you use the time the beast is trying to recover from being blinded to heal, sharpen your blade, and reposition for your next assault. After a period of time Nergigante will move to another location which will give you the opportunity to restock your supplies. At this point try to prevent the monster from retreating all the way back to its nest as it will be more challenging trying to defeat it there as it is full of traps. Put on your Vitality mantle and keep attacking its weak spots and most importantly ensure the beast does not regenerate its health by falling asleep.
