How to Start Guide for Monster Hunter: Iceborne

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is an expansion to Monster Hunter World, if you are a seasoned player who has been chipping away at the end game you should have done enough to get access. For everyone else, there are certain Monster Hunter World Iceborne starting requirements you need to achieve before the expansion is available to you. This How to Start Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will tell you everything you need to know to get started.

There are two main requirements in Monster Hunter World that need to be completed before you can begin the Iceborne expansion. These are:

• Complete the main list of story quests in Monster Hunter World,
this includes defeating the final boss Xeno'Jiiva.

• Reach High Rank 16.

You may want to consider using the Guardian Armour (screenshot above) that is available free in Monster World if you need help reaching High Rank 16. The Guardian Armour will enable you to progress faster as it allows you to equip High Rank stats and defences as soon as you start Low Rank. The Guardian Armour has the following skills.

• Recovery Up Level 3:
Increases the amount of healing effects by 30%

• Marathon Runner Level 3:
Slows down stamina depletion for actions which continuously drain stamina (such as dashing) by 50%

• Health Boost Level 3:
ncreases maximum player health by 50

• Divine Blessing Level 3:
Gives you a chance to decrease damage taken by 50%

Although the Guardian Armour will help you to progress through the challenges in Monster Hunter World faster it will be almost useless against the late game Elder Dragons that you will encounter so you will still need to grind for materials in order to defeat them.

How to get the Guardian Armour

New Monster Hunter World Players:
On the 'create your Hunter' screen, open the Default Armour option and select Guardian α+. Double check you have the latest game update if the selection does not appear.

Existing Monster Hunter World Players:
Go to your room once you have reached your first Astera assignment and visit the Housekeeper. Then go to 'Claim Add-On and Bonuses', where the Armour set will be waiting.
