Monster Hunter: Iceborne - Best Weapons for Beginners Guide

The best weapons for beginners in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne are the S Rank Bow, Long Sword, and Heavy Bowgun. These weapons are easy to craft and use, and do not comprimise damage or firepower, they each deal decent attack damage which is an important factor when choosing a weapon. Best S Rank Beginner Weapons


Bow (Blooming Arch I)
The Bow is able to deal very good damage and keeps the user a safe distance from monster attacks. The Bow has a special move called the Dragon Pierce which deals very heavy damage and can easily sever monster tails. The best bow for beginners is the Blooming Arch I which can easily be crafted due to Low Rank Pukei-Pukei target and can use Poison and Paralysis coating.

Long Sword (Wyvern Blade 'Leaf)
The Long Sword is very easy to use, it has a long reach and gives the wielder high mobility. It also enables the wielder to roll in between sword slashes and builds damage by increasing its Spirit Gauge. If you use the Long Sword in multiplayer mode you need to make sure you are aware where your teammates are as its long reach can trip allies and break their combos. Dual Blades

The Dual Blades is characterized by fast high damage with very good mobility. It can amp up its damage with Demon Mode & Arch Demon Mode. This weapon is able to deal status effects with the number of hits it can do in a short period. The downside of Dual BLades is they can eat up your stamina bar if you are not careful. The best Dual blade for beginners is Taurus Pangas I which has high raw attack damage, it is elementless so can be used against many targets and it allows you allows you to easily find and kill Hornetaur.

Hammer (Blooming Hammer I)
The Hammer has the capability to stun monsters allowing you more time to deal more damage to your target. Although a primitive weapon it is nevertheless effective. The best Hammer for beginners to get is Blooming Hammer I which can be easily crafted due to Low Rank Pukei-Pukei target and can easily inflict the Poison status effect.

Great Sword (Blooming Blade I)
Although the Great Sword is a slow and heavy weapon that lacks mobility it makes up for it with its high raw power and being easy to use. The best Great Sword for beginners to pick up is the Blooming Blade I which has very high attack power, can easily be crafted due to Low Rank Pukei-Pukei target and can easily inflict the Poison status effect.

Lance (Blooming Lance I)
The Lance has a high defense and is able to deal a moderate amount of attack damage. The weapon's counter ability has good attack power that can easily defeat monsters. The best Lance for beginners to get is Blooming Lance I which can easily be crafted due to Low Rank Pukei-Pukei target and can easily inflict Poison status effect.

Charge Blade (Mudslide Blade)
The Charge Blade is able to inflict very heavy damage via combos. It has complicated controls and is not an easy weapon to use but is worth the effort in learning. The best Charge Blade for beginners to get is the Mudslide Blade I which is attached to the water element and is effective against many monsters in the early game.

Gunlance (Madness Gunlance)
The Gunlance has hight raw attack power and is able to do damage with a variety of shelling attacks which can pierce through monster armour. This weapon can be easily crafted due to Low Rank Jyuratodus target. The best Gunlance for beginners to get is the Madness Gunlance I which is attached to the water element making it effective against many monsters in the early game.

Switch Axe (Proto Iron Axe III)
The Switch Axe is a complicated weapon to wield as it has two modes - Sword and Axe. If you learn how to use this weapon properly you will be able to deal big damage to target monsters. The best Switch Axe for beginners is the Proto Iron Axe III which is easy to craft using convenient materials and is elementless, so can be used against many targets.

The Light Bowgun (Heavy Bowgun)
Although the Light Bowgun has lower damage capacity than the Heavy Bowgun it does due to its mobility have a higher survival rate. This weapon usese a variety of special ammo which can deal all kinds of damage which is effective against many monsters in the early game. The best Light Bowgun to get for a beginner is the Jargras Blitz I which is easily crafted due to Low Rank Great Jagras target and is easy to use.
