Character Abilities Guide

During combat in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy you take full control of Star-Lord, in most situations his blasters and melee attacks will be sufficient to take down the enemies he encounters. There will be instances though during the game where calling upon one of his teammates for help will make short work of the enemy. Each of the Guardians of the Galaxy has unique powerful abilities they can perform in combat, which in tandem with Star-Lord's abilities can have a devastating effect on the enemy. This Character Abilities Guide will help you to select the right crew member for the correct situation during combat.

Rocket Racoon

Rocket is an intelligent, anthropomorphic raccoon, who is an expert marksman, weapon specialist and master tactician. He has an affinity for heavy weapons and excels at large, area of effect damage. Rocket's special weapons are capable of hitting multiple targets at once which makes him the go to crew member when you want to despatch a large group of weaker enemies.

Groot

Groot is an extraterrestrial tree monster who initially came to Earth seeking humans to capture and study. He has the ability to regenerate and can control trees and plants. Groot can use his body to immobilize the attacks of multiple or single enemies, leaving you and the other crew members unimpeded to attack them.

Drax

Drax's powers include superhuman strength, stamina and resistance to physical injury. Drax specializes in disabling huge enemies, so they can be left vulnerable for the rest of the crew to attack. Drax is particularly useful against the enemies you encounter that must be staggered before you can chip away at their health,

Gamora

Gamora is the daughter of Thanos, the mad titan, she is also the galaxy's deadliest assassin. Gamora received treatments from Thanos that enhanced her speed, strength, agility, and durability. Her fighting style is fast and powerful, and she is capable of dealing massive damage to targets. Gamora is particularly effective when you need an enemy taken out quickly.
