Final Smash - Rocketbarrel Barrage:
Puts on his jetback and pulls out his peanut guns. Use the control stick to fly him around and angle his attacks. It takes some getting use to. A button to fire his guns. Lasts for 12 seconds, so make sure you’re over dry land by then.
Strategy:
Keep your distance and use the pop gun and banana peels to build damage. He isn’t a heavy hitter, so it will be a ways into the fight before he can kill someone easily. He is very agile, however, so if someone does get in close use his speed and high aerials to get away. Once they are damaged enough, a smash attack should work ok.
Defense Strategy:
Watch for the banana peels and pop gun to get in close. He’s pretty good from a distance, but if you get in close he cant do much at that point. Match his movements to prevent escape (watch for the jetpack) and keep the pressure on. He is a lightweight, so it shouldn’t take much.

Donkey Kong's best mate and most comon ally finally makes his Smash Bros. debut. His movements have been described as 'whimshacal' while he also comes armed with his peanut pop guns and rocketbarrels.
Final Smash: Rocketbarrel Barrage - Diddy Kong takes out his rocketbarrels and his Peanut Popguns and blasts about the arena. The Peanuts he shoots cause explosions all over the stage. After a while, the Rocketbarrels explode, causing damage to all nearby opponents. The Peanuts from the Popguns can be eaten if found on the ground.

Diddy is a great character and has really funny taunts which has nothing to affect brawling. But in the donkey kong series WHY THE HECK IS KING K ROOL NOT IN BRAWL! I am sorry to say to diddy that I stick with king k rool rather than you.
I think I now the stategy but people using it makes my battle kinda cheap well its a strategy.
MAN BOOM444 you are totally right bu theres one strategy you have'nt tried be abetter brawler.
There should be no Diddy Kong in this brawling game. They should have put King K. Rool instead of Diddy from the Donkey Kong series. King K. Rool is 100% better than Diddy kong.
In my opinion Diddy kong is the worst character tied with Olimar. He has a finisher which i can easily dodge. The only way diddy kong can win a battle is if there is items on the battle otherwise Diddy is just dead!

i disagree with both of y'all u should use his bananas against him and he's heavier than u would think. i gimp his rocketbarrels when he's trying to get on stage
also, he's 3rd on the tier list and great players like ADHD, GNES, FELIX, AND MORE BE HIGH IN TOURNIES
to let u know, DIDDY KONG ISN'T SLOW AND THE PLAYERS THAT I FACED ISN'T STUPID ENOUGH TO LET ME HIT THEM WITH SOMETHING POWERFUL OR, BETTER ROLL BEHIND THEM AND HIT THEM FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE!also, a good diddy WILL use their bananas against u. u probabley think bananas aren't that good but try to hit them with something powerful and watch the fruits fly.
I also disagree with the defence strategy. I think you should get in close, but not too close to him, and pound him with strong attacks. Or you could try getting behind him and use a smash attack for massive damage.
i disagree with the defense strategy. you should keep a good distance from diddy but not so far that u cant rush in and attack. most of diddys moves are close range so just keep an eye on the pop gun. try to do damage from a distance if u can then just hit him with attack but dont try to stay him close for to long because then he'll start to attack to and just about all his moves cover a close range.
I disagree with the keep a distance strategy for diddy. You can use your bananas offensively and keep on an opponent with a series of quick attacks not allowing them to do damage to you. If done correctly you can amass a great deal of damage to your opponents rather quickly while keeping your damage low.
