Gears Tactics has a feature called Reset Tokens which when used will refund a characters Skill Points if in hindsight you feel the upgrade path you have taken was not the best route and you want to try something different. Check out our Reset Tokens Guide to find out everything you need to know about this feature.
Gears Tactics is without doubt a punishing game and investing the limited number of Skill Points you can recieve through completing missions and killing enemies to upgrade your characters is important. If in hindsight you feel you have made a mistake and the route you chose is preventing you from progressing further in the game you can use Reset Tokens to revert back and try something else.
Reset Tokens are earned in Gears Tactics by natural progression by advancing through the 25-hour campaign and you will be abe to attain a maximum of 18 Skill Points slowly over that time. Reset Tokens aren't exclusive to any one character or class and can be put to work wherever you see fit. As Gears Tactics doesn’t feature multiplayer or microtransactions there is no fast-track way to get hold of a Reset Token. The only way in which you can gain Reset Tokens is by completing the main missions in the campaign.
Not only are Reset Tokens useful when you feel you have made a mistake and want to backtrack but they are also a great way to experiment with different strategies in Gears Tactics.
To use your Reset Tokens you need to go to the Skill Tree Menu in the Barracks which serves as the customisation hub for every character you have in Gears Tactics. If you look in the top-right corner of the screen you be able to see how many Reset Tokens you have to use. In order to actually use the Reset Token you must go directly into a character's Skill Tree. Once there click the option to rest the characters's skills. Before anything is finalised you will recieve a warning to prevent you from accidentally wasting them. It is advised when decicding where to allocate Skill Points that you choose abilities that best suit your playstyle.
