Another Main Stage Point-to-Point Mixed Surface Race that is worth 120 Points to the next Wristband and $7K to the winner (not including bonuses).
Restrictions for this race are Class-S cars or below, but the family body type must be Open Top.
You cannot ask for a more satisfying race for convertibles -- hopefully Oakley gave us glasses for this one though... That sun is bright!
The S-Class upgrade gives the cars a faster and looser feel than was initially expected, but even so leaves them with plenty of fun built-in, it just takes a little getting used to... It probably would have been more helpful for the Introduction to this ride, in this class to have been a Circuit Race rather than a Point-to-Point race, but you run the courses you are given, right?
The obvious strategy here is to get to the front of the pack as quickly as you can -- which in this case due to the natural choke points took a little more work than usual. Despite that though, once you actually manage to make it out in front it felt a lot easier to stay there than has previously been the case in other races. It was almost as if the drivers were not trying their hardest this time around.
The reason for that may very well be because this is the final race in the Blue Wristband Series, so there was nothing to try for or be aggressive about considering that you have already taken enough points to guarantee yourself that last available Pink Wristband.
The Odd Chore or Two
As this is the last race in this series there are a few chores you will want to see to before heading for the Horizon Hub and claiming your Pink Wristband.
First, head to the marker on the map for the Pink Slip Race with Duke, where you will relieve him of his cherry ride. You know considering that he has been the nicest of the rivals (comparatively speaking) it almost makes me feel bad to take his ride from him... Almost but not quite.
Second, if there are any new Showcase Events now is a good time to see to them. Which there are and how many will depend on how well you have done in completing the various style and challenges for popularity points - hopefully you have done well at that.
To increase your accumulation of popularity points you should make an effort to drive to each new event rather than use the fast travel system -- bearing in mind that unless you paid for the Fast Travel Anywhere DLC license (which costs $4.99 in real-world money mind you) the only Fast Travel you will have in the game is to the Outposts.
Using the Outpost Fast Travel system still costs you in-game money unless you have completed some or all three of the challenges that are available at each to obtain a discount for directed travel to them.
You should check to see if there are any new (or yet to be completed) Street Races available, because those are also a great way to pick up popularity points.
Finally the last thing you should do before pointing your wheels to Race Central is check to see if there is a new Barn Find. If there is, go claim that puppy! If not, head for Race Central.
When you arrive at Race Central Alice is waiting for you, and she has your new Pink Wristband waiting for you -- and when you claim that last Pink Wristband you will also unlock the Achievement "Racing for Pinks" (35G) You received your Pink Wristband.
In the process of reaching this point, as long as you have been following the guide and not using the Fast Travel System, you should also have unlocked (or be very close to unlocking) the Achievement "The Next Big Thing" (15G) You're the 100th most popular driver at Horizon.
At this point the next series of races will have been added to your map.
