Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising Beginner Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising.

Don't Ignore Signposts

Signposts in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising enable you to fast travel so that you are able to skip complete areas and reach your objectives easier. Signposts which can be found in different sections of every dungeon also allow you to save your game. Make sure you save at Signposts as there is no autosave while you are inside dungeons. If you haven't saved at a Signpost and you die you will be respawned to a previous point in the game.

Do Every Quest

It is important that you do every quest in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising as completing them will produce stamps which once enough have been collected will enable you to level up the village and offer you new opportunities. When you begin the game everything is fairly linear with only one quest available in the story. As you get further into the story things will begin to open up and several quests will become available, when this happens you should plan expeditions around the quests, this basically means completing all those in a certain area before moving on.

Understand How the Bags Work

When you enter a dungeon in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising you will have two types of bags, and it is important that you understand how they each work. A stowbag is used for items like healing potions and to begin with you will only have a few stowbag slots you can equip when you enter a dungeon regardless of how many potions you have. You will be able to equip more potions at the dungeon entrance or in the town. The other bag you have is the resource bag which you can use to gather resource materials, at first you will be able to hold up to fifty items. Make sure when you reach a new signpost you fast travel back to the entrance of the town, empty your resource bag and then fast travel back to continue your progress.

Take Advantage of Link Attacks

After an hour or so CJ will meet Groo who will join the team as her first ally. Once this has happened you will be able to perform Link Attacks. Each character's attacks will be mapped to a specific button on your controller and during a strike you will be able to hit the other button to summon an ally into battle. This will trigger a Link Attack where time slows down and damage will often reach critical points. A good early attack strategy is to use CJ as the exploratory character and have Groo deal the damage with a Link Attack.

Repeat Boss Fights

You can challenge the bosses in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising infinitely in order to gain the rewards they give when you defeat them which will be rare crafting materials and plenty of XP. If you find yourself struggling with the game you should use the following trick to get more resources. Use the Signposts to fast travel to the boss area, defeat the boss, and then fast travel back to town where you then rest. Doing this will reset everything, so you will be able to repeat the process to gain more rewards from defeating the boss.

Remember to Rest

Make sure you don't forget to rest up in the house you are given in town to recover the HP you have lost in battles. Not only will you replenish your character's HP but also save the game which will reset the world including monsters and resources.

Never Sell Materials

Keep in mind that Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising has a crafting system that is unlike most other RPGs. You will only be able to unlock shop items once you have crafted them. An example of this is if you bake a dish at the cafe, that dish can then either be crafted for free again using materials or purchased without the need for materials. This means you should never sell materials as you never know when you will need them again.

Take Notes

Keep in mind that Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising has branching dungeons and a hub town and plays like a Metroidvania in that you will be unlocking new equipment and skills to explore further into the game. It is therefore recommended that you make manual notes and take screenshots to help you remember where everything is when you need to return to an area.
