How to Defeat Hollow Plant

The first boss you will encounter in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is the Hollow Plant. You will face this boss which takes the form of an evil-looking tree while looking for a Great Tree Bough in Main Quest 3. Take a look at our How to Defeat Hollow Plant guide to find out how you beat this boss.

Where to Find the Hollow Plant Boss

You will find the Hollow Plant boss in the Great Forest which is the first dungeon you unlock while completing the Main Quest. When you reach Main Quest 3 you will be tasked with getting a Great Tree Bough from the Great Forest to restore the town's Clock Tower and in order to get this valuable item you will need to fight the Hollow Plant. To reach the boss you need to get to the Great Forest entrance and advance all the way to the right. Before you get to your destination you will pass through the first area and the cave. You will find the Hollow Plant right before the Signpost Great Tree Glade.

How to Defeat the Hollow Plant Boss

This boss will attack either by making its branches rise from underground or by using a worm. The rising branches will cause damage if they touch you and the worm which is released from the mouth of the boss after a series of attacks will charge up a ball for several seconds and then release it at you in a straight line. Like the branches you need to avoid the ball, if you get hit by it, you will be stunned and lose the opportunity to keep hitting the worm which is the weak spot of the boss. The best way to avoid the ball that the worm fires is to use your Quick Step which has invincibility frames. Once you manage to defeat the Hollow Plant the boss will drop The Great Tree Bough which you can then give to Shiva back at the Plaza. The boss will also drop a Rune Fragment which will come in useful later in the game.
