Current Meta

Every now and then, the game developers introduce small changes in mechanics in the game during patch releases. These small changes can result into a shift on how the game is played. Heroes and items can either get buffed or nerfed which results into a new metagame, or meta for short. In a way, the meta dictates which heroes and strategies are most favorable in the current patch.

As of this writing, the DOTA2 2.700 meta favors heroes with Burst Damage capabilities. And so, players picks include tank heroes or those who can mitigate magical burst damage. However, this does not mean that heroes who take less damage from magical abilities would be king. By reviewing the smallest changes in hero skills and stats, players will be able to see if an unpopular hero is now viable, or if a nerfed hero is still worth picking.
