Disintegration is a first-person sci-fi shooter that also features elements from the real-time strategy genre. The game is set in a world that has been ripped apart by famine, scarce resources, and on the brink of destruction, humanity has developed a process to survive its harsh reality known as Integration, in which a human brain is transferred to a robotic armature. The game itself has three different multiplayer modes: Zone Control, Collector, and Retrieval that each have different objectives. Check out our Game Mode Guide to find out more about them.

In Zone Control pits five crews against each other to control and capture areas of the map. In order to do this you will need to ensure your ground crew are alive and within the zone as this is the ony way to accrue score to win the match. As Gravcycle pilots are not able to capture points on the map you will instead need to focus your fire on ground units to prevent them from capturing zones.

In Collector mode two crews face off against each other with the objective to defeat enemies and pick up Brain Cans in order to score points. You need to pick up as many Brain Cans as possible before time runs out or the score limit is reached. Brain Cans are obtained from several sources: enemy Gravcycles, enemy units, and spawn points. You can also pick up friendly brain cans, which won't get you any points, but will prevent the enemy team from collecting them. The points you earn for collecting Brain Cans is as follows
• Enemy Gravcycles:
Worth +3 Points
• Enemy Crew Members:
Worth +1 Points
• Friendly Brain Cans:
Worth 0 Points

In Retrieval mode crews are split up into attacking and defending teams who then compete in two rounds. The attacking teams objective is to attempt to deliver an explosive core to areas under the defending team's control. This must be done by a ground crew member as Gravcycles are unable to carry the core. If the attacking crew member carrying the core dies the core will be dropped on the ground and must be picked up by another member of the attacking crew. If the core is not picked up in the allotted time it will explode.

Check out our Best Crews Guide to find out which crews we consider to be the best choices for each of the three mulitplayer modes available in Disintegration.
