#3) Cynthia

Ranking just ahead of Lance is Cynthia, the Sinnoh League Champion. If you've played Pokemon, then you know just incredible Cynthia is. Back in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Cynthia played a key role in your trainer's journey. She assisted your trainer with the sick Psyduck, as well as provide key details about the origin of the Creation Trio. She played a role much like that of Steven, the original Pokemon Champion of the Hoenn Region. Both of them are researchers trying to discover the truth about the origins of the Legendary Pokemon for their given regions.

Cynthia further assisted your trainer uncover more of the story of the Legendary Creation Trio in the sequel game, Pokemon Platinum. By the end of the game, you and Cynthia discover that Giratina is the missing link between Palkia and Dialga, and that all three were created to watch over their given areas of expertise. After finding all of this out and stopping Team Galactic for capturing these Legends and taking over the world, you continue on your journey and eventually have to face Cynthia. And once you finally reach the point of having a battle with her, you quickly understand why she's the Champion of the region and is held in such high regards.

Cynthia may just be the most powerful Pokemon Champion that has ever existed. She has a fierce Pokemon Team that is the perfect balance between speed, power, and defense, led by her Garchomp. She easily dominates trainers with her Pokemon, and more often than not, she sends trainers on there way. It's difficult to defeat her, and even more difficult to do it the first time around. She's the closest thing to a perfect Champion, but is outclassed by the final two champions in the nostalgic factor. But being ranked third out of ten overall is nothing to be down about.
