Ranking The Ten Pokemon Champions

#9) Iris

Since Alder is considered as the worst Pokemon Champion so far, it is no surprise that Iris ranks just a head of him. Iris was the Champion in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, the sequels to the original Unova Region Games. No one had any idea that Iris was suddenly going to be the Pokemon Champion, but that's what the Pokemon Creators went with for these games. It really didn't make anything. You would have thought that Alder would be the Champion, since there was only one case before this that the Pokemon Champion for a Region was changed in the game's sequel (Wallace in Pokemon Emerald). However, the one before this made much more sense. Steven Stone was a Pokemon Researcher, and it made complete sense that he wanted to further his knowledge in the Origin of the Hoenn Region.

Iris becoming Champion, however, made zero sense at all. Alder wasn't anything like Steven, so why would he no longer be Champion. Sure, Iris might be stronger since she uses Dragon Type Pokemon, but that's really about it. Iris, as a person, never wanted to be anything more than a Dragon Master. She was never even considered to have an ounce of desire of becoming the Champion. It would have made much more sense to have Alder's Apprentice, Marshal (the Final Unova Elite Four Member), become the Pokemon League Champion. His Pokemon were much stronger than what Iris' were, and it would have been a lot like what the creators did with Steven and Wallace. But instead of doing what made sense, the creators decided to throw us a curve. She didn't even play any role in the main storyline of her games.

Now Iris is still a really good trainer. She's uber strong with her Dragon Type Pokemon, and she can pose many problems. But since she shouldn't have really ever been a Pokemon Champion, her ranking is quite low.
