Ranking The Ten Pokemon Champions

#7) Wallace

Up next in our rankings is Wallace, the second Hoenn League Champion. Wallace, in regards to becoming a Champion, was something the Pokemon Company had never done prior to him. They had never changed a Pokemon Champion within the released on one Pokemon Game. Blue was essentially the Champion in the Kanto Pokemon League, and he secured this title also in Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green. The same went for Lance as the Johto League Champion. But Wallace was different, he was an experiment. The Pokemon Creators could have just made Steven the Champion once again, and everything still could have been great. But they didn't. Instead, they went in the direction that know one would have imagined, and they made Wallace the Hoenn League Champion.

Now Wallace was good Champion in Pokemon Emerald. His Pokemon Team, lead by his fierce Water Pokemon Force, had some good power. But he never fit into the perceived mold of a Pokemon League Champion, especially when compared to Steven. The Pokemon League Champions before him, and many of them after him, had more balanced teams in regards to Pokemon Typing. Wallace only used Water Pokemon, which made beating him pretty easy when compared to games past. He also didn't add that extra level of depth to Pokemon Emerald like Steven did in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.

You may say isn't right to judge him in comparison to Steven, but we have to be able to decide in these rankings who is indeed the best Pokemon Champion. Wallace doesn't compare to Steven, or even Lance, Cynthia, Blue, or Red for that matter. And this sees him fall short of them, as well as deserve this current ranking. It's hard to live up to someone as great Steven, but that ended up being Wallace's fate.
