#5 - Mega Abomasnow

Anyone who has played Pokemon X or Y know exactly what Mega Abomasnow is, but if you didn't get the game or just waited for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you probably wouldn't know anything about it besides having its Mega Stone. Mega Abomasnow was the second Mega Evolution you would find in game within Pokemon X and Y. Team Flare are up to no good once again, and it's up to you and Mega Abomasnow to stop them at Frost Cavern. But that was it! Mega Abomasnow has been in hiding ever since! It's an excellent defensive Pokemon who can still deliver some decisive blows, but for many reason trainers just don't use it.

Like we said, Mega Abomasnow has some great statistics. Both of its Defensive stat sit out 105 Base Stat, which is pretty impressive. But even better than that is its Attack and Special Attack, which max out at 132 Base Stat. Now none of those stats are mind blowing - especially for a Mega Pokemon - but their nothing to just dust off as nothing. Mega Abomasnow can do some damage, that is if it has the opportunity to do so. The main problem with Mega Abomasnow is its TERRIBLE Speed Stat. There has never been a successful Pokemon with a Speed Stat of 30 or lower, and the same reigns true for Mega Abomasnow. Speed is key in the World of Pokemon, and that type of Speed Stat is devastating.

If Mega Abomasnow had some more speed, it would definitely be better. But that's not its only problem. Like we said, none of its stats are mindblowing. And if you're not a popular Pokemon to begin with, you better make up for it with some pretty incredible stats. But unfortunately, Mega Abomasnow doesn't. It would have been WAY better if some of its Attack or Special Attack Boosts could have been used to improve just one of stats instead of both. This way, Mega Abomasnow could have actually had some serious power, instead of having to share and ultimately lessen its strength.

But even then, it still could have been a failure. If you don't have popularity as a Pokemon, you'll never go far. And really... Who would want Mega Abomasnow over Pokemon like Mega Garchomp, Mega Lucario, or even Mega Gallade?
