Top 10 cancelled Video Games
03. Tiberium (EA LA / EA Games)
The thing about the Red Alert series is you are either a fan and love the games, or you don't. For those of us who really got into the RTS style of mechanics, and the idea of a first-person tactical shooter? Yeah we were totally ready for that!
Set in the Command & Conquer universe, Tiberium was going to put us into the role of a GDI Commando, and thanks to the official trailer and other information that was released about the game, it was pretty clear that while it was not exactly a role-playing game in any sense, there would be a definite character to the character we played. Certainly an identity.
The plot centered around a repeat invasion of Scrin, with our hero the protagonist doing his duty and bringing the battle to the enemy.
Tiberium was prematurely revealed when shots of the January 2008 issue of Game Informer were leaked, and then officially announced by EA just a day later. Prior to the announcement, the game had actually been in production for over two years, and word was that they were close to a Beta build at that time.Sadly and despite massive desires on the part of the fanbase, the game was officially cancelled on September 30, 2008, with EA stating that the reason for the cancellation was down to the game failing to meet the quality standards for the EA Games label.
Maybe they were right... Maybe the game quality was simply not up the standards set of the series, but after revealing that it was on its way, and expounding upon the uber awesomeness of the first-person POV, losing it like that? Yeah, that sucked.
I would be really surprised if there was not at least some sort of online in the next Fallout offering - tho you never know...
And to the rest of you lot - those are all good picks!
fallout online was a good idea i thought the elder scrolls were too far fetched the fallout series was more realistic and fun id bet the game would have made bank the next one in this series should have a multiplayer online mode to meet new people in the wasteland bethesda needs to integrate that game idea with the next fallout released[size=20[/size]

I agree with the previous comments on StarCraft: Ghost. So many were looking forward to it, then it faded away. It should have priority on this list... and Mech Warrior 5.

No PC in your 'definitive' list? Of course, PC gaming 'doesn't matter', right?
RIIIGHT...
"Fear Effect: Inferno". I'm still mad at Eidos for dumping the first PS2-generation game in one of my favorite PS1 series, so that they could concentrate all their efforts on the abomination that later became "Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness".
megaman legends 3 being cancelled hurt for sure...
HUGE fan of the first two
the first one especially had a huge role with my nintendo 64 main lineup
Yes, we hear you and know your pain - there were a lot of games that really should have been made... But then again, there are a few we were not sorry did not come to us... I agree that Fallout Online would have been... Eh?
Hey, no offense meant but there are days when you NEED a good shooter... Just saying... It is often the relief for what ails you!
Somebody likes military shooters...as if we didn't have enough of them already.
Also, that song was Cher, not Aqua.
The fuking oFF game is good also!
The Indiana Jones game that had moments from the films and new content, with Harrison Ford voicing Indy for the "next gen" consoles (PS3, 360) Even had a nifty trailer in the news reel style from the 40's then poof. Gone.
