Top 10 Series that Deserve a Sequel

6. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Eternal Darkness is a very different type of horror title. While many games of the genre rely on jumps scares and gory scenes, Eternal Darkness gives you a very different type of scare. Eternal Darkness has a Sanity Meter, which will go down from a variety of problems. When your character begins to lose their sanity… as you expect, things will begin to happen to put you on edge. First it will begin small, like creaking floor boards and the typical 'bumps in the night', but as you lose more of your sanity the effects start to become more intense, and can really start to freak you out. Also, the game's story is actually quite good, and requires multiple playthroughs to grasp the entirety of it, which lends to a lot of replayability.

Eternal Darkness actually had a sequel planned very recently, and the game, titled Shadow of the Eternals, was pitched on Kickstarter as an episodic title on the Wii U. However, due to various issues along the way—possibly the worst of which being Denis Dynack being the chief creative officer, which lowered consumer trust after his debacle with Too Human—the sequel has been put on hold 'indefinitely'. Very unfortunate, as the original Eternal Darkness has a slew of fans that are eagerly awaiting a second entry into this very different horror series.
