How do I turn into super sonic in normal levels?

I don't know forsure but ithink if you get all 7 chaos emeralds and beat metallix (metal sonic) but whilst you are against him with team sonic you get super sonic to beat him with. When you beat metallix you get to be super sonic (I THINK)
