I am quite sure that there is no secret codes spot in the game. Instead stick to the cheats that involve a combonation of buttons

When you first enter the game at the main menu enter the cheats, only ones that contain a mixture of buttons are valid cheats. I.e(square-triangle-square-R1-R2-L1-R2)
Note: that is not a real cheat just an example.

To enter them, when you get to the screen that say's "Press Start," thats where you enter them.
