How do I place my fingers on the guitar in order to use all five buttons?

This is really all about how you play. Do you play with three fingers, or four? I'll give you a strategy for each, just in case.

If you play with three fingers, you'll have to completely master the slide technique. You slide your fingers down to reach the other two buttons, which are blue and green. You must then head back up to the original position, which can be tricky.

Now, if you are like most Guitar Heroes, then you use four fingers. This makes things much easier. All you have to do is reach down with your pinky (the finger you use to press blue), and hit orange. You might have to slide down a button if your fingers are small, though.

You can do one of two things, slide your hand up and down continuously, or you can keep your fingers on Yellow, Red, Blue and Orange, and keep your pointer finger on Yellow, and when there's a green note coming at you, slide your finger to green.

What I do is look to see if there are a lot of notes coming that are close to the orange and I just move my whole hand down and play like normal. So I replace green with red, red with yellow and so on,

I use five fingers so I just normally keep my fingers in the default position (pointer on green, middle on red, ring on yellow, and pinky on blue).i stretch my pinky finger to the orange to hit that note. Hope my advice helps.
