Ok I see on youtube people have been able to play custom songs on the guitar hero series
Can anybody give me step by step instructions on how to do so and where I can get good versions of these songs

Well, they have the computer version. It's not legal. SO I wouldn't recommend doing it. There is a way to put it for Xbox 360, but it would ban your Xbox.
If you want to play Custom Songs on Guitar Hero games...
I would get Guitar Hero: World Tour, it's good for customs.

Dude it won't ban your Xbox if you disable internet Search for more answers for Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock or ask your own question here.
