What buttons do you push and when do you push them to recruit your own gang?

First you have to go to the gangmember you want to recruit then press R1 and up.

You can only do it though if you have enough respect.

To recruit Gangmembers you first have to gain a little respect. Once you have some respect GET A GUN and find a gangster that is wearing green,then walk up to him and aim your gun at him and press the up button on your D-PAD (you will hear a sound).

Once you do that you can direct them to follow you by pressing the up button on your D-PAD, you can make them wait where ever you want them to by pressing the down button on your D-PAD. If you dont want your newely recruited member just walk up to him and aim your gun at him and hold the down button on you D-PAD.

Depending on how much respect you have you can recruit as many gangmembers as allowed.

You need to have completed enough missions to have enough respect. It's not to many missions into the game until you can recruit your own gang.

Once you have the ability a blip will appear and tell you that you can recruit. Once you can you find guys wearing the GSF colors (green) and hold R1 to lock on someone then press up. Make sure no weapons are selected though, make sure you're using your fists.

To get rid of them you just hold the down button for a few seconds and you'll dismiss them.
