action replay trouble !

Evey time I try to use action replay on gta sanadreas the controler does not work.I no beacuse I can skip the sponsers or even play the game !I checked if it was a faulty controler but if I reset the ps2 and play without cheats it is fine.
Can you help me ?

I'm not sure what is going on but I was wondering how you put in action replay codes. One suggestion I have is to get your second controller if you have one and plug it in in the #1 slot...
