LP and XP are quit different.....
LP - Lifestyle Points
Is like Gems in other games.
Not only allow you to skip times and tasks, but also buy special stuff.
How to get it : Hobby, Quest, Party Boat's gift...etc.
XP - Experience level
Is very common in gaming.
XP help you level up to unlock new stuff and Quests.
How to get it : Everywhere.
And there is another one called SP, I think you may want to know.
SP - Social Points
Allow you to buy even more special stuff. Lol
How to get it : Social Tasks.
