How do you talk to a tree to complete a quest?

Is it the Quest that says negotiate with the plant? Then you must plant something like lettuce (where it has a man eating plant hazard sign) when your sim is done with the planting, then click on it, and it will be like a slot thing. Time it so you make it stop on the sim eating plant instead of the (rather harmless) lettuce. Then the sim eating plant will appear. Click on it and the option negotiate should appear

You need to get a tree with talking icon (the one the same as 2 Sims talking to each other). Then Place it in the yard. You need to Notice the Quest is "talk to a tree in the Housing lot" or "talk to a tree in the empty lot". Once you've got the tree, just click the tree and talk to it... It takes 12 hours to complete this task and only 15xp as reward... What a XXXX task!!! Totally waste of time...

No need to by empty lot. Just buy a tree with talking icon will do. "in the housing lot" simply means in your own yard, not public place eg. swimming center. 16xp if the sims complete the task in his/her own yard, while 15xp in other sims' yard...
