How can I change my sims name? Their last name changed once I had two of them move in together but the male sim took the female sim's last name, how do I get the old one back?

Make a third sim with the last name you want. Have both your existing sims get married/move in with the third sim. Make sure it's the third sim who does the asking.

Alternately, be all new-fangled and ignore it.

Same happened to me. Another Sim moved in with me, because they asked me at my house and I wasn't ready to give up on the house that I created.

Add a new sim with the last name you want to an existing but empty house (or build a new one) and ask the sim you want to change the last name of to move in and then move him/her back for 5.000 simoleons.
Be careful not to make them move back by asking, otherwise this will happen again.
Afterwards you can delete the sim that you only add for the name thing.
That's how I will do it.
