The Leaky Cauldron
You can access the showroom underneath this place by destroying the silver lock. Here, you can find various pieces representing your completion rate for each year. If you're able to unlock everything in a year (student in peril, crests, true wizard and character tokens), you'll be able to construct a monument and get a gold brick for each.

For all your qustions I have the answers.
1.To get in to the pub just walk down.
2.No there isn't a student in peril in diagon/Knockturn alley.
3.you do nothing with the circles on the wall.
4.To get to the Leaky Cauldron go left about 20 metres and there is a door next to a red wizard go in there and your in the leaky cauldron.
5.It takes about 1 second to beat the vines.
How do I get in? I've broken the lock, but I keep bouncing on top of the light that is flooding out of the open trapdoor

Vines can typically be destroyed using the "Lumos" spell (White-colored one of the spell wheel after WiLe which is pink).
