There has to be someone that you're good with - use them...
If they don't work - try Paratroopa and someone else, his Special is very useful and you get it often...
P.S. Don't you start with Baby Mario and Baby Luigi?!?

A good team is baby bowser and toad because baby bowser has that big spiny shell that can get multiple enemies. Sometimes you should put toad in the back to get the golden mushroom and get a big boost.
