Ultimite Weapon

Ok, I have been playing this game for a while and I cannot figure out how to get the merchant, and the blacksmith in my village to get a level up. I have tried visiting them, and buying things or having things made, but I can't get them leveled up. I am a alchamest. I almost have the ultimite weapon , not ragnorak, and I need to know how to get the items needed to make it. Ive heard that you can buy it from the merchant in your village(if you have one) but I cannot get him leveled up. Also, where do you make the weapon. Is it in alfitaria, marrs pass, or your village. Well thanks to anyone who answers this question.

If you want to get them leveled up then you need to play as the character with that trade. You need to make them happy off of the mail. I know this is annoying but it's easier if you play with two or more people. You have the other person or people play as strong characters so you don't die and you just survive as the other weaker character. Hope I helped :>

In my game, an easy way to level up the other trades is to switch to characters of those trades at the start of each year and talk to their dad(the one who drops gil) talk to him again after he has dropped the gil. For example, in doing this, the merchant would have more goods to sell the next year( but not at a reduced price because you arent sending them mail).
