Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is an open world action-RPG that is set in a corrupted world that is falling apart. You play the role of a former soldier, forced to flee the death penalty because of your magic powers. These powers manifest in the middle of a demonic incursion and transform you into an Aspect of the Apocalypse, a divine being capable of wreaking havoc on the battlefield. This sudden change turns you into a pariah among your brethren. Check out our Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Walkthrough and Guide to get help in the game.
Initial Equipment Immediately after you start the game you will be asked to choose your initial equimpment. At this stage of the game this is not important as it is only a basic weapon, armour, and skills that match the selcted class (warrior, shooter, and mage) and can easily be replaced after 1-2 hours of gameplay.
Characteristics Whenever you reach a new level in Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem you will recieve 10 Characteristic points which you can then spend on any of the available characteristics which can be viewed by pressing the 'C' key. In the new window there will be four attributes:
• Ferocity This affects Critical Attacks.
• Vivacity This is related to health and Strength Shield.
• Prowess This increases the speed of attack and spell casting.
• Wisdom This affects the chance of causing negative statuses when attacking.
Keep in mind when spending your Characteristic points that bonus damage depends on three attributes with the highest number of nested points. Check out the video below to get tips, find out about hidden techniques, melee synergies, and vital skills.
Combine Weapons There are no classes in Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem so your character will be able to use any kind of weapon without any restrictions and regardless of the initial equipment you chose at the start. Take advantage of this to create a hybrid fighter capable of weilding a variety of different weapons instead of sticking to the classic warrior, archer, mage. You do need to remember though when doing this that the skills are tied to the weapon. Check out our Tree of Skills Guide to find out how to best spend your Skill points.
Pick Up Everything Make sure you pick up everything when exploring the starting locations of the game. When you have no free space left in your inventory press the 'T' button to open the portal to the city and sell all the useless junk you collected to the traders there. Check out our How to Fast Travel guide to find out how you can avoid trudging back on foot to a town to sell your items.
Item Rarity The items you find in Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem will have different rarity, the rarer items will have more perks (talents), but will also be much more expensive. Items also have a level that affects their characteristics and value.
Save Your Money Resist the temptation of spending money purchasing skills, upgrades, weapons, and potions from merchants as most of these items you will be able to obtain for free by exploring the world and defeating enemies.
Unique Equipment During a story mission keep an eye out for the merchant named Fate-Adjucatrix Zeitgeis or simply the Spirit of Time. This NPC appears randomely and will have in her possession unique equipment (accessories, armor and weapons) you can purchase. Her third tab always offers two random unique items that have their own appearance and their own statistics of a fixed type (but not their values). Fate-Adjucatrix Zeitgeist will also buy your useless items. Check out our How to Farm Unique Items guide to find out how you can easily get the best weapons and armour in Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem.
Active Skills In Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem you use a feature known as the Enneract to acquire new skills. Enneracts are special type of Item drop, which when right-clicked will grant you a new skill. The skill granted is determined by the specific enneract used. Enneracts can be obtained by killing enemies, looting chests or buying it from Demetra (Merchant) found in Stormfall. You can level up Active Skills by equipping it and using it, or by simply forcing it to level up using Primordial Affinity. Check out our How to get Primordial Affinity guide to find out how you can obtain this valuable currency.
Paint Your Gear Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem features 140 different dyes which can be used to paint your characters outfit. These dyes are given as a reward for performing missions or can be found while exploring the world. To view which dyes you have collected press the 'B' key. To repaint your gear requires a certain amount of gold.
