Flight School: Skydiving

For most players once you get here it gets fun and we are pretty much like most players. Sure the process of hitting the designated target as you skydive can be a challenge, but oh what a fun challenge that it is!

For this first lesson to obtain a gold medal you need to complete the lesson in under 3 feet from the center of the target marker. For the silver medal you need to do it in under 10 feet from the center of the target marker. For the bronze medal you need to land in less than 20 feet from the center of the target marker. Sounds simple, right?

Well, maybe not so simple because you might be thinking that since this is skydiving you will be using a parachute... Nope, no parachute! Instead you are using an airfoil, which is a special sort of gliding parachute that fills with air creating the sort of pressure flow that more resembles a wing than it does a chute.

The following tips will really help you with this lesson:

(1) When you jump out of the plane, ease the Left Joystick forward and dive towards the target marker, picking up speed and reducing your altitude at the same time. The idea is to cut the altitude but now so much that you cannot make a gentle glide to the target.

(2) When you approach the target -- say a thousand yards from it -- hold the Right and Left Bumpers and center the target between the V-shaped straps -- that will allow you to get the right glide angle on the landing and make the landing precise.

It is not clear if that was an intended strategy in the game but it really does work!

(3) Remember you only have to hit inside the radius of the target area for it to count even if you stumble out of the area you landed in -- or at least that was our experience.

Making Gold

Chances are good that you will hit this your first time out but if not the first time, than the second time for sure. Just retry it since one, this is fun anyway, and two, getting the gold feels good :)
