Cactaur are little cacti that have human form, their faces are comprised of three black holes. If you spot a Cactaur in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin they will start to run around frantically. Don't let this enemy get away as defeating it will reward you with extra loot for that area's level and a decent amount of EXP. Although Cactaurs will try to run away when they see you they will also fight back if you try to approach them. You need to defeat Cactaur quickly because if they are not killed fast enough they disappear forever. Keep in mind when you engage in combat with a Cactaur that they are not defenseless, they have a deadly 1000 Needles attack which is capable of wiping out your entire health bar with one hit.

Once a Cactuar has been defeated they will not respawn for that level, this means they are a one time only reward for each level and cannot be farmed. The locations where Cactuar appear are totally random and there is no guarantee they will respawn in the same area. If you are killed during combat against a Cactaur there is no guarantee that you will respawn in the same area, so you need to keep an eye on your health when fighting them. The easiest way to defeat Cactuar is for your party to work as a team and overwhelm their Break Gauge with the Lightbringer skill.
