Last Updated:

After you clear out a particular location for supplies and all the containers and rooms have been checked, tap Down on the D-Pad to assign that area to be an Outpost. This will provide the following:

* Supply Locker – a supply location far away from home.

* Resource Cache – produces resource materials everyday until they run out.

* Safe Haven – provides 15% chance of missing survivors to return home safely.

Materials are needed to create traps on outposts. These will wipe out entire hordes surrounding the area so be sure to stock up on those Materials.

Do not LOOT all of the big resource piles you find in containers, IF you are going to turn a building into a outpost.
A fully looted outpost will only send AMMO as a resource to the main base.

So if you find a building full of Construction piles, don't loot the every one of them or else the building will only supply ammo.

Note: Leaving two different types of supplies in a building does nothing as the game will only provide ONE type of resource.
So if you leave a pile of FOOD and a pile of MEDICINE the game will only provide FOOD as it's first in the alphabet.
