Interaction

Tap A to interact with any interactible objects like windows, hurdles, fences, etc.

Action Button

To interact with most objects, press Y. This is your basic action button. It searches bundles, opens doors, builds window barricades, etc. Searching is one of the most integral part of the game, make sure to search for supplies until the upper left screen of an area shows that all of the supplies have been searched out and it is now empty.

The Journal

The Journal is your main menu for managing your home base and checking the status of each survivor, which includes Skills, stamina, inventory, health and conditions, and individual Traits.

Personal Actions

Hold RT, then press x, Y, A or B to perform personal actions. These range from taunts to waves, etc.

Stealth Approach

Noises and sounds are a big aspect of the game, as even a simple search will produce noises which will attract zombies nearby. This is where stealth comes into play. Hold down B to crouch and enter sneaking mode, you can control your character using LS while crouching. Press B to stand again. Sneaking reduces noises and it is much more silent while crouching in bushes. You can sneak up behind an unalert zombie and use LB + Y to deliver a stealth kill. This animation depends on your equipped weapon and does not reduce the weapon durability.

Survey Points

Climb atop marked locations that provides you access to pinpoint vehicles, buildings, searching areas, hordes, special zombies, etc. across the surrounding area. Hold down LT to look around, then hover your crosshairs over to the question mark symbols. These areas will stay marked on your map until they have been thoroughly searched out, after which they will be marked with an x.
