How to Unlock the True Ending

No credits begin rolling once Yang has been defeated at the end of Sifu to formally conclude the end of the game. This is because there is a secret ending which is the true ending that you can unlock. In order to do unlock the true ending and the roll credits you must first finish Sifu regularly and achieve the standard ending. Once you have done, so you will return to the waguan at age 20 and from there you need to return to each stage and encounter each boss again. This time however you must spare the bosses instead of killing them. To spare a boss's life you must break their Structure bar twice in the second phase of the fight and resist the urge to execute them with a finisher animation. When you do this a 'Spare' prompt will appear on-screen which when selected will give you a new cutscene.

As you spare the lives of bosses within the same save file that you just beat the game on you will retain any and all permanently unlocked skills that you had obtained, this means defeating the bosses again will not be so difficult this time around. It also helps that the youngest ages that you transitioned from stage-to-stage are also retained.
